I usually find 'Speedtest.net' to be fairly acurate, anyway I posted this in the newsgroups and got a not very satisfying reply:-
Last few weeks have been nightmarish, 20mb speed is slower than my
previous 4mb.
Mornings at 8.30 seems ok, tested at :-
http://nettest.virginm.net/ 2.46 mb excellent speed, would download 1gig test iso in around 16 mins.
one thirty in the afternoon and the same testfiles max out at 359kbps
speedtest.net also reports 3223kb/sec and gets steadily slower as the day
goes on, trying to surf in the evenings is absolutely chronic.
4pm nettest iso test file 126kb/sec
