Hi mate, having the same problem with my 20meg line, perhaps reading
my thread will help you as lots have gave suggestions... although not worked for me it may for you
also have you tried TCPOptimizer from speedguide.net?
As cleshe said.. need to know the model of your modem also mate. Best thing to do would be to run a
netstat -a and a ping to bbc.co.uk and post results here along with your modem info and network setup if you have one router/wired etc
