I've tried alot of different settings on my pc, checking my router... putting under DMZ and off again etc etc... direct connection also but its all pretty much the same, sadly. As for the modem setup i can only change the channel and freq, which i tried too. It's so tiring and i just feel like i'm fighting a losing battle, knowing that if i am capped currently till 12 it's only going to go back up around 13megs worth.. ugh
I just need some solid advice to try and sort this problem out, it's doin' me head in to be honest, i'll try anything i can do myself if you guys advise it / show me how.
It doesn't make sense for one day i can get 18megs worth late at night all the rest are just the same ole 13megs... ok i'm ranting i dunno what else to do.. advice please

Well i already told you to get a new modem, that would be the best place to start.
