VirginMedia Wireless Router Problem
I have a VirginMedia standalone broadband box and I am trying to go wireless, without success.
Ths virginmedia box works perfectly when connected directly to the pc's ethernet port.
I have followed the instructions that came with the router to the letter, but I cannot get it to work.
The instructions are as follows:
1. Power up the pc and virginmedia box and establish an internet connection.
2. Power up the router
3. Connect the ethernet cable from port 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 on the router to the computer's ethernet port
4. Connect the WAN port on the router to the Virginmedia box's ethernet port.
Problem is that the WAN led on the WAN port does no light and when I run the installation disc, I keep getting the message 'No WAN Cable Connected'
I have tried switching around cables.
I have even tried changing Wireless Routers (From Buffalo to D-Link).
I get the same problem whatever I do.
Am I doing something obviously wrong ???
If I am, neither the Buffalo or D-Link support people seem to be able to find the problem.
