Re: Wireless router

The Set Top Box acts as your modem for the Cable Broadband Service. The principles of setting up wireless are similar in terms of the type of wireless router you need, whether you have a modem or Set Top Box (STB) connection.

Essentially, you power off the modem or STB, connect ethernet between modem / STB and router WAN (internet) side, connect ethernet between router and a PC, power up the modem / STB allow to settle, then power router and let settle, then PC.

If you have a modem, everything should just connect, assuming the PC is set to autodetect connection stuff. Most cable suited router's shouldn't need much changing of settings. If you have a STB your router will need to be registered. The first time you try to use the internet you should get redirected to the provisioning screen.
