Maybe we're looking back on our yoof with a soft focus, but methinks that the countryside has become a tourist attraction. Way over-commercialised. I just want to have a walk somewhere and generally be left to wonder. Quietly. As I posted in another thread, Golden Acre Park was full of townies letting their kids and dogs run amok, and Newmillerdam was pretty much the same. Big piles of dog crap everywhere.

I like the idea of Bolton Abbey. It's not far from Aysgarth Falls - I can relive my youth a bit
