Watch the 'leccy bills though. Plasma uses twice what CRT does for the same screen size, and four times more than LCD.

A friend recently got an Onn 32" LCD from Asda, not sure what they paid for it, but to honest the picture is terrible.
Blurring and juddering on all but the slowest of movement on screen, picture is so soft with SD pictures from Virgin (they don't have HD so can't comment on that) and as for the black levels forget it, it doesn't get anywhere near black.
Makes the picture on my 7 year old CRT look blummin' fantastic!
But hey, they seem happy with it, but I know I wouldn't be.

You sure it's not just a case of "we paid x hundreds of pounds for this, it's awful, but we will like it anyway"?
Anyway, that case just underlines what I always say. Go and look at a few TVs. Preferably in a proper home cinema/hifi dealer (although most of those wouldn't touch non-brand TVs). Having said that even one in a department store, or supermarket would give you a better idea of what the picturers like than a photo on a website.
