Well, quite, and obviously I knew when moving here that there was a flightpath over it. However, one could be forgiven for also knowing, because BAA *told* everyone at the time, that Terminal 5 was the last expansion contemplated at Heathrow. It's that being a straightforward lie that tends to start me off viewing things a bit negatively.
Either HMG or the oil price *will* change the habits of those who fly a lot, short-haul at least. London to Brussels/Manchester/Paris are all swinging in favour of rail now, and Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Cologne and Glasgow could follow if the effort put into flattening several villages in West London was put into transport schemes that don't tie us to fossil fuels.
