We felt the tremors way up here in the Middlesbrough area (Stockton-on-Tees) at the same time (just before 1am).
It shook beds and a few things creaked and groaned slightly but no damage known as yet. This happened twice, approx 3 seconds each and approx 5 few seconds apart. Not violent but enough to wake up a light to moderate sleeper.
I was already awake in bed but it woke up others in the house (except the 5 year old who sleeps so deeply that the littke tike has now proved that she can in fact, as the saying goes, sleep though an earthquake!

I've never felt one before and it was hard to describe but it sort of felt like a truck had crashed into a house very nearby, with all the vibrations but without any associated noise.
