Because if there are any delays, for whatever reason and they have announced a date. Then you get lots of people calling in and complaining in places like this, that vrigin media promised me my upgrade by whatever date. This is outrageous, im phoning retentiosn to get a 99% discount or im cancelling.
What benefit deos it serve the company to publish estimated dates before they are 100% sure? They have already got the good publicity by announcing the upgrade, by giving specific dates they are just setting themselves up for a fall.
