I don't believe convicted sex offenders should be in a position to be in contact with children at all. It depends on the offence though, these days there are sex offenders and sex offenders. I think mothers (and fathers) need to think very carefully about who they get involved with and not rely on the state to make character judgements on their behalf.

I believe if they are told someone may be a risk to their children, they are not allowed to pass the information on to anyone else. That's a secret that I think most would find very hard to keep.
