when we swtched on the laptop we connected to the network and put in the password and it worked straight away.

The desktop pc doesn't even allow us to get that far and put a password in, as stated the computer tells us it has found networks but will not allow us to view them.

I have just been into the network connections and there is a red cross in icon. I have checked the physical connections in the back of the pc and it all seems to be ok.

Do you think I will have to taken my desktop downstairs to the router and go through the process again?

The think that is puzzling me is that nothing has chnged upstairs on the desktop but we cannot view the networks available
