We're all doomed :(
Forget global warming, WMD and extraterrestrial impacts by lumps of rock - we're all gonna die in a massive jellyfish invasion! According to a documentray on C5 tonight, they're tough little blighters too - they can live in the boiling depths and frozen wastes and are reproducing at record rates. Many are posionous and/or deadly. Culling them doesn't work - the Japanese apparently found that the survivors of such action just produce more and more offspring. Billions of their fertilsed eggs sink to the bottom of the oceans and form polyps which can lie relatively inactive for years before suddenly becoming active and generating vast numbers of tiny offspring which can develop into adults in just a few weeks. The Australians tried nets to protect swimmers but then discovered a tiny yet highly dangerous species able to get through even the smallest mesh. These things can kill anything from fish to human beings and there are no antidotes to their poisons.... They're even deadly when they're dead! If they don't get you in the water they'll eat all the fish.....
