the thing with the cheaper brand TVs is that they are cheap because they use old panels and old processing components (up to a good 4 to 5 years old - the stuff that the named brands used that amount of time ago but have since binned) - thus they are cheap. named brands such as panasonic, pioneer (often regarded as the best in flat panel TVs at this time), sony (though you'll pay more for that name) and the such are MUCH better as they actually supply the latest technologies in their TVs. you really do get what you pay for. buy the tele cheap, expect poor picture / audio / build and outdated components. you really are better off saving for a bit longer and getting something named. the prices are dropping all the time, so hold out and save some money. for a descent 37", I would not pay less than around £800 to £900.
