That card doesnt ring a bell with me, which make is it?

Driver is from Agere Systems..... its inbuilt..... into a Packard Bell Easynote

also are you managing the wlan from Microsoft or the utilty that came with the card? (if card utility try microsoft wlan client, to start this go to dos, type in "Net start WZCSVC)
Lets just say......I've solved the problem.....

My new laptop has a switch to activate the inbuilt card.....

the older laptop as far as I knew didn't have a switch ......it has a button next to the power button.....for the life of me I did not entertain the idea that was for the inbuilt card
