Yes, I agree this would be the neatest way. But, I remember when I bought my Netgear wired router and the trouble I had of trying to configure it. Unfortunately it looks like the configuration software I have in the box does not work with MACs, but I am pretty sure they just plug in and go, you only need the software if you want to fiddle with security settings.

It is of course possible that they now come with MAC software, I have had mine about a year.
