Re: Clashing overlaps

I have now tried to see if the V+ will record three concurrent programs when in Standby.

My observation is that it CANNOT. I am in an exTelewest area and accept that others may observe different behaviour.

If you try to set three to record concurrently OUTWITH Series Links, the software will not allow you to set the third recording. It states that you need to cancel one of the two other records first.

You can get it to set three concurrent Series Links but, of course, one is set as a clash, presumeably the one with the lowest priority as set in the options.

When you then place the V+ in Standby, only two record at the appointed time and the other is reported as Failed.

Conclusion - the V+ with the current level of code in an exTelewest area CANNOT concurrently record three channels, even in Standby.

I do accept that the hardware is capable of recording three channels (after all, it is effectively doing so when you record two and watch either Live TV or Delay TV) but Virgin Media would need to enable this in their software.

Others experiences would be interesting as there MAY be local differences between software capabilities.
