Forum Warnings System

As most of you will know, we have a warnings (infractions) system for people who find it hard to follow our rules.

The main list of possible warnings is as follows ;

2 Points
General Behavior Warning
Breaking the Sites T&C's (Minor)
Minor Offense involving dispute with a moderator request

3 Points
Inappropriate Language
Arguing With Other Members
General Forum Attitude Problem
Abuse of the Reputation System

4 Points
Insulting Other Member(s)
Breaking the Sites T&C's (Major)
Ignoring Moderator Request/Decision

5 Points
Minor Spamming
Arguing Moderator Decision

6 Points
Registering or using a duplicate account

7 Points
Severe Disruption / Breach of Terms of use

15 Points
Spamming

Senior team members can also give custom warnings not listed above.

Note that if your 'offence' is a 2 or 3 point warning, and it is your first ever warning, it will generally be given as a 0 point warning.

The expiry time of each point level warning is as follows ;

2 Points = 90 Days
3 Points = 120 Days
4 Points = 180 Days
5 Points = 240 Days
6 Points = 300 Days
7 Points = 360 Days

The suspension levels are as follows ;

5 Points = 1 Day
7 Points = 1 week
9 Points = 2 Weeks
11 Points = 3 Weeks
13 Points = 1 Month
15 Points = Perm Ban

So if you currently have 4 points, and get a 3 point warning, your account will be suspended for 1 week (the 7 point level).

The "Eight and Out" rule.

Should anyone breach the sites rules on a regular basis and thus have 8+ active warnings, their account will be automatically suspended for 2 months.

Appeals & Expired Infractions

Please also note that expired infractions will not be removed.

If you feel an infraction was unjust, you can only appeal against it for up to 28 days after it was given. This must be done in the manner prescribed by our site's terms and conditions. Any infractions over 28 days old will not be removed or altered.

****************************

It should be noted that the vast majority of members will never need to worry about this system as they follow the rules without incident, and even those who just stray very occasionally should never reach a suspension level. If, however, you are one of those who cannot abide by the sites terms of use, you will find that these changes will very quickly suspend your account.
