It appears the "limited connection" message refers to the crossover cable connection to your xbox, your pc treats this as an ad-hoc network as it connected to the ethernet port. It is also running the wireless connection simultaneouosly, so data from your xbox is getting to your pc much faster than from your pc to your router. This could cause the slow down problem.

Having your xbox running online will slow down the connection for any other pc's on the network.
