Here's the setup...

Cable box has 2 scart outputs:
TV one goes to AV1 on the TV
VCR one goes to input on the DVD recorder

DVD recorder has 2 scart connections:
Input from the Cable box
TV one goes straight to AV2 on the TV.

If I select source on the DVD recorder as SCART then it shows cable.
With the DVD player switched on I see cable on both AV1 and AV2...

If I switch the DVD recorder off, I only get cable on AV2, not AV1 which is the direct connection from the cable box to the TV??!

I also tried switching over the scart cables plugged into the back of the cable box. The result was on AV1 (set to RGB) I got a red picture but it stayed on when the DVD player was switched off...

Any ideas on what the problem is? Is it likely to be a config setting on the TV or something?
the post has confused me a little but i seem to remember that if you open up the scarts from the set top and cut the wire going to pin8 you might be ok
