There are regulations seeing as it is a fixed system, but you should be OK because it comes under Separated extra-low voltage systems (SELV) because the power supply feeding it is probably class II and is under 30Vdc.

The only thing I will say is the IEE wiring regulations 411-02-06 (ii) states: "SELV circuit conductors shall be enclosed in an insulating sheath additional to their basic insulation." that excludes bell wire as that is only got basic insulation, but alarm cable is fine because that's what it is intended for.
