Re: I Am Legend

I saw it this afternoon.

Loved it.

The
Spoiler:
sort of happy
ending was annoying, but at least Neville
Spoiler:
still dies at the end
. On the other hand, I think it simplified things, & it was handled well.

Very close to the book I thought, apart from some minor changes, plus the more major deviation near the end (& the odd other bits which aren't too important, although would have been nice to have). Still has the feel of it.

I thought it was very well done, Will Smith was very good, & the flashbacks were a nice touch too.

When the
Spoiler:
girl came into it
, I was expecting things to be like the book, so was a bit surprised later.

Still, before that, I had been wondering how exactly they would do the same end as the book, seeing as in the movie you don't see him properly going out
Spoiler:
hunting the vampires, so even if there had been any infected Others, which there weren't, they wouldn't really have had reason to be angry with him
.

If anything, I'd have like it to be longer, with a bit more of his daytime & night-time activities, & more of the "Dark Seekers".
