Is your wife using the root email account, or a sub email account, e.g.
user@ntlworld.com or
wife.user@ntlworld.com ?
The way I understand it is that using webmail to access pop3 accounts you can only delete items from the mail-server on the root account, not the sub-accounts!
I expect someone will tell me I'm wrong, but that how it works for me!
