Even if you did connect up the VM cable

a. You would not get Freeview, only a few unencrypted ANALOGUE channels
b. Your cable might not even be connected at the cabinet EDIT: Sorry, didn't notice you said you had a V+ box, but A+C still stand
c. Your connections if not tight (and even then...) could cause ingress of noise onto the network causing problems for your neighbours (and if they traced it back to you - which is possible - they would just unplug your cable and maybe send you an invoice)
