They claim to have their own cable network so it won't rely on ADSL by the looks of it. They do use (unbundled) ADSL for the "Up to 20mb" service however

Small World is the new name for WightCable North which was the new name for the cable TV provider OMNE based out of Scotland. The new network runs from the south of Glasgow through Ayrshire, Dumfries and Galloway, and from Carlisle across Cumbria to Lancaster and Morecambe. It will eventually pass 325,000 homes plus 25,000 businesses and public sector organisations. Potentially, over 1 million people will be able to enjoy the benefits of real choice and more value in their telephone service, plus interactive digital TV with lots more channels and high speed Internet. Because it's broadband based ( ie Fibre connections / IP Digital based ), the network can meet the needs of everyone who wants more reliable and cost-efficient communications, information and entertainment - today and in the years ahead. Once constructed they will be able to offer HD DTV channels, Interactive TV, PSTN ( Telephone ) connections and Broadband Internet connection from 512k to 30MB.
