Anyone else think Clarkson's quip about The Stig being mistaken for a Brazilian electrician on the tube was a bit distasteful?
Not as bad as some recent ones - it's become a bit too cruel recently and they need to lighten up. I took the joke as being at the expense of the police, who I notice later had a nice cameo showing how much of a police state London is now. Blair Out!

Mind you, the cross-London race was fun, the first bit was all around where I live. They hamstrung the poor old Stig, though, as no one sane would go that route from Kew to LCY. Ahem. You'd go District-Jubilee-DLR since the Jubilee is extremely fast while the interchange at Monument is a bloody long walk. You'd also get on at Kew Gardens directly rather than get a bus to Gunnersbury first, which gets you snarled up on the South Circular and Chiswick Roundabout. This was evidently done to keep the bike, car and PT routes close. Oh, and his Oyster would have worked fine at Gunnersbury, straight onto the platform.

/me is taken away muttering about while you're at it, James May, why not go over Hammersmith flyover and avoid the roundabout...

I still want that speedboat though.
