the CPU will be stuck to the heatsink with thermal paste most likely.

Assume you opened the bar before taking the CPU/heatsink out? If not you might have damaged the CPU pins.

Also, make sure the bar is open before trying to re-seat the CPU.

The bar is the locking mechanism to lock the CPU to the mainboard.

Also you may have to carefully peel the CPU off the heatsink and re-seat it without the heatsink attached. make sure you apply new thermal paste before sitting the heatsink back on the CPU.
