system32 drivers pci.sys mising....... help, please

Hi all, well I done it again
I was using a prog called driver genius pro ( used it before with no problems ) to update some missing drivers. Upon a restart a got the message that System32/Drivers\pci.sys was missing or corrupted. I have tried doing a repair, but it fails to do anything, tried F8 for safe mode and last known good configuration but that just prompts me to do a repair, maybe I'm doing the repair bit wrong Pressing 'r' when prompted brings up a dos like screen, is that right ??

Anyone able to help me please, running XP Pro SP2 etc

TIA

EDIT: Posting this from the lappy.
