If you don't use any of those features, you can get rid of Ctfmon by going into Add/Remove programs, click the Change button for the MS Office entry, select add/remove components, then under Office Shared Features, set Alternative User Input to Not Available. If you have other MS Office products that are installed seperately, e.g. Frontpage, you'll need to do the same with them as well.

It's not only part of Office anymore but is installed as default with Internet explorer 7.
