As for the difference between Ubuntu & Kubuntu, I probably know the least about Linux out of everyone in this thread, so it's very possible that I'm wrong with this, but from what I've read/heard the main [only?] difference between Ubuntu & Kubuntu is that Ubuntu uses Gnome & Kubuntu uses KDE.  |

I had Debian one with dragondtop appended to the end once the kernel name is et when its compiled
