Re: Virgin broadband and an Asus WL-500g router
Robguest,
Did you manage to get the WL500g working? I have just had Virgin Media installed and am having exactly the same problem. I've left the whole setup powered down over night, but still no luck.
I phoned the premium rate helpdesk, who sort of indicated that they could help, but advised that wireless was not supported by VM. They gave me three DNS IPsto enter in the router, I only have space for two IPs, but they don't work.
A relative of mine asked me to set up a new router on a NTL connection a few months ago, the netgear router she bought worked first time with no powering down, etc., so I'm wondering whether there is something strange going on the Scientific Atlanta modem. I manage a successful Ethernet connection with the laptop I used the registation software on, but the second laptop cannot even obtain an IP from it.
All very frustrating!
