No - I'm getting it just before it shows the desktop.
Had the same issue with fawn but fived it by choosing 1024x768 and selecting safe graphiscs mode.

No from the start screen on the install for the live CD

What about when you boot into XP? Do you see anything before the login screen, e.g. the BIOS info, etc? If not, search for a thread started by me, with LCD in the title, & follow the steps listed there.

Yep - everything is fine before the Live CD starts - my last install of fawn went fine. Dunno why this is different.
