With the WRT54GS you want to know which manufacture revision it is, especially if you need to run your own firmware. Early versions (up to v4 I think) were flashable having enough memory, but if you didn't flash them, heavy torrent use could overload the Linksys own firmware tables (too many connections saturated the memory tables). However Liknsys reckoned they fixed that in later versions, but I don't really know. However the later routers had lesser capacity for firmware upgrades, hence the linux version being released.
If you aren't needing wireless then you certainly don't need Speedbooster which is a wireless enhancement that only works well with other linksys Speedbooster enabled wireless adaptors in your PC>
As for buying though ebay, check you don't overpay - even if it's marked as new do you get any warranty or retunr rights?
