Try Enlightenment Window manager btw,you might like that more
Dunno I find the KDE layout suits me quite well being mainly a windows user in the past.

I quite like 1 task bar With the menu.etc on particularly as my monitor is 1440x900 wide-screen.

Tried enlightenment once before and wasn't that keen probably didn't take the time to configure it. Its one of those "I've got it working in a way that I like it"situations and I loathe to change anything at this particular moment apart from the odd aptitude install command when I find I'm missing something (No gimp on the default kubuntu install for instance )

Edit:
Does anyone know how to bind winkey D to minimise everything?
I used xbindkeys to make winkey + L lock the pc
I could probably do the same for minimise all if there was a command I could execute to do it.

Other thing does anyone know of a way to monitor a logitech wireless keyboard/mouse with linux?
I.e a program that can check the battery charge level.
