I can't replicate this, sorry.
In the image preview (Windows Photo Gallery) all my images look the same as they do in say, Paint. There is a colour fix/tint etc menu available in the 'fix' tab at the top toolbar. I'm not sure if that has any bearing on what you're seeing though.
