Leave your wired PC wired for now. Use your daughters laptop to check out the wireless configurations. Thus that should be the one that is wireless.

Ideally configuring the wireless on the router should be exactly the steps that the dynamode manual states. You then just have to match those settings on the wireless connection for the wireless computer. You may need to reboot the wireless computer if it was previously connected wired before you can enter the new wireless setup..
