I am hoping for a fix that will stop it getting stuck on WLAN even when you disconnect (this is usually because the net has stopped working). I'm on O2 btw...

Yeah, via the Nokia Software Updater.
If O2 hasn't yet approved the O2 branded v12 firmware for release, then the only way to do it is to unbrand your N95 & then update it with the generic v12 firmware. Can be risky apparently, & also can void the Nokia warranty, & operator insurance, etc.

I had some funny WLAN issues... fixed it by going to Tools > Settings > Connection > Wireless LAN > Options > Advanced Settings, & then set Automatic Configutation to "Disabled", so that I could then set Power Saving to "Disabled".
