if you're using a router, all the pcs should be connected to that - you can't have one pc connected to the modem and one to the router.

The modem will either run the usb port or the ethernet port, it can't do both at the same time.

connect only the router to the modem, using the ethernet cable, connect the pcs to the router, reboot it all and see what happens
