Exclamation Using ADSL Modem as a pure router - Please Help!

Hi guys

I'm kind desperated here. I've got the Virgin cable service and I'm trying to use my previous ADSL Modem/ Router to setup a wireless network at my home. But there's something bizarre happening, after i connect the virgin cable modem in the first Ethernet port of my Linksys WAG54GS I can connect to the internet using an wired connection from the second ethernet port from the linksys, but if i try to connect a second computer by wireless connection there's no internet (even though the connection is perfect).

I'm aware of the differences of an ADSL and a Cable connections but the question is, in a ADSL Modem / Router can't I just ignore the modem functions and use it as a pure router (in this case for a cable modem connection).

Many thanks

Marcelo
