I must say the dark matter thing has always made me smile, Galaxies should be falling apart cuz there isnt enough mass of matter in existence,in science that it. So there has to be matter they cant see to explain the fact that chances are the science is incorrect lol

Ah, not quite that simple though, they can actually prove something is there as they can use it as a kind of telescope to see further back into the universe, its called Gravitational Lensing. (It bends light and we can use that as a lens)
So its dark and you cant see it directly but you can detect it and use it to your advantage its just that they dont know what it is.
