If we just look at broadband then as long as I get good uptime, which I do with NTL, virtually 100%, and a service fast enough to do the things I want with it then I am happy. What companies give and what they are capeable of giving are two very different subjects. NTL could, I am sure, give 8 or 10 Mb and it would work for most customers, however far they were from the headend. The same cannot be said for ADSL. Why don't NTL give those speeds? Why should they? Who needs them other than the small percentage who want to download the internet and have it done yesterday. NTL are really only competing with ADSL and have some excellent packages at excellent prices. Do they want to market a product designed to attract the kind of customer that they do not want for the sake of being able to say they are market leaders?
