I've had cheap ram thats been fine but equally i've had a fair bit of bad ram using the generic stuff.

Bought crucial for my last upgrade TBH, Its not That much more expensive than the cheap stuff and its more likely to work properly and if you use their memory selector tool they will guarantee it to work with your system

It is worth paying that little bit extra to get crucial ram.
Although i think corsair ram is quite good stuff to.
