This isnt really new concept, the blade centres do the same job, in my job I managed a project to consolidate 150 Dell servers - got a beefy IBM ISeries with terrabytes of disk space, bought a couple of racks of blade centre and used the disk storage on the ISeries, and used IBM Tivoli TSM to back up the data, ok cost alot (nearly half a million) but its been worth it and you have to say IBM kit certainly is the dogs bolloxs, never fails or breaksdown.
