Getting a new Sony 32" HDTV, just thought I'd post a few questions for people to answer.

I'm using a Bush CRT at the moment. I'm using the remote code too. I'm just wondering whenever I disconnect the box from the TV, plug the box into my Sony, will I just change the remote codes or Do I have to refresh something?
HDMI - The Virgin:Media guy let us the HDMI lead, if I connect that to the box and to the TV, Will the TV just go onto HD1 and show NTL. Or, Will I need to change it from scart to HDMI? How do I do that without the scart lead?
Will I loose any off my recordings?
720p or 1080i?
