If you whip the string out and make sure you grip the Powerball really tight, you should notice the rotor not only spinning about it's axle, but also rotating around the inside of the plastic casing, and you'll feel it moving your wrist slightly in circles. Keep your wrist moving in those circles and the rotor will keep spinning.
I'm sure there are plenty out there where people just don't get it, but it's a shame...I've been Powerballing two and a half years and I still love it...rarely a day goes by where I don't use one a bit. (And at 36 my arms have never been in such good shape!)
