Sky Broadband Speed

Just been on the Sky website to see what speed i'd get if i had broadband from Sky. As i have a cable phone there is no point in entering my phone number. So tried to be clever and entered a neighbours phone number as i assumed this would be similar and it retuned 4Mb. However i tried a second neighbours number and it returned 1Mb.

So my question is, how can i reliably find out what speed i'd get without paying BT to reconnect my line?
