Not sure about why the connection isn't there but I do know that Belkin are very good at replacing broken routers. I had the same router which failed about a year ago and I simply phoned Belkin who took details and sent a replacement router with no hastle. They offer a lifetime guarantee on all of their products. I couldn't fault their customer service.
