Need help to fix problem

Greetings

I've finally been able to identify my wired router as being the limiting factor in getting 20mbps. When plugged directly to the cable modem, I've been able to get speeds of 15mpbs+, but when connected to the router, only achieve less than half that speed of around 7mbps. It's a wired Belkin Cable/DSL Gateway Router ( http://reviews.cnet.com/routers/belk...-30108658.html) . Do I have to turn something off/on on it to to speed it up? If so, what do I turn off/on?

Thanks
