it sound like you have pluged both the USB2 cable into your PC and the RJ45 cable into your 360 at the same time ,yes?.

you cant have both usb&rj45 pluged into the VM modem at the same time as its not a router just a broadband modem.

VM-BB(NTL250)-USB<===>PC-USB
VM-BB(NTL250)-RJ45<===>360-network-card1
