Firstly apologies if i`ve posted in the wrong forum
We have bought a house, currently phone line is on NTL/VM, now the owners have rang up tonight to tell them they are moving but when they asked about us taking over the phone number they were told the line would be disconnected and when our account starts we would get a new number and we couldn`t have their number for at least 3 months
we thought it would simply be changing details on the account and things would carry on as normal
Is this true and also does any nice person know of anyway at all of keeping this phone number active (don`t know if it makes a difference but theres also a BT box in the house)
The reason we really need to keep this phone number active is because its a phone number for a specialist animal sanctuary with dozens of phonecalls a day and really dread to think what would happen if someone rang in an emergency and the phone number is dead
(they are not normal run of the mill pets who can go to the RSPCA etc)
eternally grateful for any ideas
